Jay Nixon’s “Only Focus” on Obamacare is “Implementing the Law of the Land”
June 27, 2012SAINT LOUIS, MO- Dave Spence, Republican candidate for governor, today followed-up on Jay Nixon’s outrageous claims that he has been “pretty clear” on his position regarding Obamacare. On Monday, Nixon insinuated that he has not supported the individual mandate in the past. However, as the audio linked to this release makes clear, Jay Nixon’s “only focus” has been on implementing the ill-conceived law that would burden small business, bankrupt the state, disrupt the patient/doctor relationship and constitute unprecedented federal intrusion into the lives of Missourians.
“Jay Nixon’s only clear position on Obamacare is that he thought it was a positive for Missouri that needed to be implemented, and we have the audio to prove it. Missourians should be offended by his last minute desperate attempt to say he has been with them all along when his words and actions prove otherwise,” said Spence. “Other governors across the country fought back against the unconstitutional law but the Nixon Administration’s focus has been on putting it in place. Given Jay Nixon’s terrible economic record, it makes complete since that he supported this job-killing federal takeover of healthcare.”
