Spence Completes Tour of All 114 Missouri Counties
June 20, 2012MARBLE HILL, MO - Dave Spence, Republican candidate for governor, today announced that he has taken his pro-jobs campaign message to all 114 Missouri Counties and the City of St. Louis. Dave Spence’s goal of visiting every part of our great state demonstrates his recognition that in order to lead a state, you need to understand the needs and priorities of its people. Spence visited Washington, Madison and Bollinger counties today for events with local elected officials, grassroots supporters and job creators as he completed visits to all 114 Missouri counties.
“As I’ve traveled the entire state listening to Missourians’ concerns about the economy, jobs, out-of-control government spending and intrusive government regulations, my belief that we have to do things differently in our state has been solidified,” said Dave Spence. “Missourians want a governor who will get government off the backs of job creators and who will work on their behalf instead of at the behest of special interests. Jay Nixon’s Missouri is failing. Being fiftieth in job creation with zero growth is the Jay Nixon record. His record has earned him an F and it’s time for Missourians to elect a governor who has been in the real world, actually created jobs, and who understands what job creators need to thrive.”
Spence, 54, recently stepped down as the President of Alpha Packaging after nearly 27 years at the helm. Alpha is a Missouri-based plastics manufacturing company that Dave built from the ground up. Spence secured a loan to buy Alpha in 1985 at the age of 26. At the time, the business had about 15 employees. A proven job creator, Dave has led Alpha’s remarkable expansion to over 800 employees. He has also served as the Chairman of Legacy Pharmaceutical Packaging, a Missouri-based company. While quality manufacturing jobs were evaporating across the country, Dave found the formula to break that trend and help provide a good living for hundreds of Missourians.
